Mai Bhi Toh Hindustan Hoon
Conversations from Bharat
India is changing, and changing fast. As one of the world's oldest living civilisations rises once again, millions of people have been lifted out of extreme destitution and poverty. Yet the fight continues and we are Proud to be part of making India a developed nation by 2047

We're quick and nimble. We're truly Indian
The Trust is a 20+ year old National NGO working on issues that truly impact all Indians - 𝑹𝒐𝒕𝒊 (food), 𝑲𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒅𝒂 (clothes), 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒂𝒏 (housing), 𝑷𝒂𝒂𝒏𝒊 (water), 𝑲𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒃 (education) and 𝑲𝒂𝒂𝒎 (employment).
We don't impose. We build on community solutions
Our philosophy is to work on best solutions generated from within the community rather than force down measures that may not be as practical or relevant to the actual beneficiaries. Oftentimes the community most affected by the problem have the best solutions to it.
We don't simply help, rather we enable and empower
In our years of fieldwork we have found that enabling and empowering the local communities, particularly the youth and young girls on the ground, generates the best outcomes and gets you bang for the buck.

Why We Need You
What role do volunteers play at the Trust ?
Volunteers are the heart of our humanitarian network across India. They are the soul of our organisation and play a crucial role across all levels (horizontally and vertically) at the NGO. It is the volunteer spirit that has enabled us to achieve what we have till date!
Are volunteers given major responsibilities and allowed to lead new initiatives ?
Yes. Volunteering with us is possible at the highest levels and in leadership roles across each of our 6 focus areas. In fact we welcome the best expertise from across India and the world to come and share your knowledge, time and energy and build a New India together!
How is the work of volunteers recognised and appreciated at the Trust ?
Each volunteer gets a fixed term contract, with possibility of extension. Your work is recognised throughout the cycle of the projects you are involved in. Certificates of Appreciation, Letters of Recommendation and extensive references are provided once a volunteering role is successfully completed. A lot of our volunteers go on to become full time staff at the Trust. We invest a lot of time and energy in training and preparing our volunteers and prefer to institutionally retain them based on their performance.
Is volunteering the right way to go ?
Volunteering is a flexible, easy and direct way to get involved in the field and help in the humanitarian mission. It is an ideal match for working professionals, students and others who would like to dedicate some of their time and energy to projects they are passionate about, without an extensive full-time commitment.

What People Say About Our Work
